We were approached by Ryden and Tinto Architecture to provide a number of visuals to accompany a planning application for a new house plot in Milltimber, Aberdeen.

Our client was keen to extend their Victorian terraced property to form a new open plan kitchen/dining/sitting area and also form a visual and accessible link between the garden and the house which the property currently lacks.

The contemporary extension features a large sliding patio door system with slimline frames to minimise the visual barrier between inside and out. A large rooflight has also been positioned over the newly formed opening which will flood natural daylight into the enlarged kitchen area.

The project is due onsite in the coming months.

Structural design by Create Engineering.

Render produced a series of Photomontage images for a fantastic developement by Michael Gray Architects to accompany a planning application for 4no. Holiday Chalets on a Perthshire Hillside.

The Planning Department at Perth & Kinross Council requested views from a number of specific locations to assist their understanding of the scheme and to assess the impact the proposal would have on this sensitive site. As a result, the visuals were produced under strict Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) criteria to ensure complete visual accuracy.

The project was granted Planning consent in late February 2012 and is expected to be complete by Spring 2013.

At Render, we are big fans of Tadao Ando's architecture. Whilst browsing the internet we stumbled across a 3D Sketchup model at Ronen Bekerman's fantastic blog and thought it would be only right to texture and render this amazing example of Ando's work.

Completed in 1976, Ando, a self taught architect, received an award from the Japan Association of Architecture for this stunning piece of modern architecture.

The collaborative entry features a hydraulic powered chair which will elevate the guests to the summit of the temporary structure allowing panoramic views over London.

The winning entry will be commissioned by Living Architecture and Artangel.

The shortlist will be announced on 13th December. Hopefully more on this one soon...

With a limited budget we have made the construction as simple and as cost effective as possible. At present there is insufficient head room within the shelter, therefore we have removed the existing concrete flat roof and erected a simple steel frame to create additional head room.

The new roofing and additional walling (created by raising the wall head) have been clad with corrugated iron to create a visual divide between old and new.

Windows have been positioned on both gables to allow morning and late afternoon sun into the space.

The project is due on site later in the year. More on this project soon....

Situated in the small seaside village of Aberdour, this 1870’s property was in need desperate need of modernisation.

As part of the works we created a new ensuite off the master bedroom and reconfigured the layout of the existing bathroom to make best use of the available space. Within the master bedroom we also introduced a freestanding feature bath which enjoys views fabulous views over the Forth to Edinburgh.

Render obtained all necessary permissions from the local authorites to alter the property and provided 3D visuals to assist the decision making process.

More photographs to follow soon....
